with the stressors i faced last month... KitKat wouldnt have helped much!

so i went with my family for a HOLIDAY!!! :D (ok i'll admit... this holiday added quite a bit to the stress i faced.. cause it was the weekend before my assignment DATELINES!!! *faints*)

but it's all over now! and i'm glad i went! :D

we went to Malacca! =) absolutely love that place!

popo found her new love! oops! :P

the dude in red is the dude that goes around introducing "good" food. this shop sells chicken rice balls.. but nobody goes there anymore.. cause thanks to him.. the balls got so commercialized it's not yummy anymore! *bummer*

also... i would think it's his lack of ability to pose for the camera that caused the downfall of the shop :P

it was a 2 days 1 night trip! so we rented a house, a VERY NICE house!!! (i've been missing it since!! :( )

we were there sempena the birthday of my nephew and niece... but cause her bday was 1 week earlier... she didnt get as much attention..

also! he turned 16.. and his parents spent quite a lot of money for this trip!

Every Single Bit of Christmas

First and foremost, a HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

here's a christmas story i've written. although it didnt come to live, i just thot of sharing it with my faithful readers that have constantly came here only to be disappointed (SORRY!!!) so here's something exclusively for u! =)

it's a bit wordy tho.. but it's a story.. so i hope u enjoy it!

On the last day of school in Sri Peace; all the students were talking about their annual Christmas vacations. Rae-Lynn’s parents had been planning for a vacation trip to Paris this Christmas; she joined in the conversation with ease. However, Rae-Lynn did not know that due to the economy crisis, Rae Lynn’s dad’s business had been affected. As a result, the plans for Paris had to be changed; but Rae-Lynn’s parents did not want her to worry about the family’s financial situation, therefore they’ve held up breaking the news to her.

Telling her friends about her family’s Christmas plans made Rae-Lynn excited about the upcoming trip. Upon reaching home, Rae-Lynn went to look for her mom and was surprised to find her dad home early; they were in the study room. There was a solemn atmosphere in the room but Rae-Lynn was too excited to notice it. Seeing their only child home from school, both of Rae-Lynn’s parents greeted her with a half-hearted smile. Rae-Lynn was still grinning from ear to ear; completely oblivious to the gloomy aura in the room. She noted that her father was home early, but before he could respond, Rae-Lynn went on to talk about the chat she had with her friends on their Christmas trips; most of her friends were going to Europe. Frown lines were forming on the face of Rae-Lynn’s mom, Mrs. Ching. As she was trying to smooth the lines, it was Mr. Ching, Rae-Lynn’s father that broke Rae-Lynn’s train of blabber.

“We will not be going to Paris this time around,” was all he said.

“What? Why?” Shock and confusion rang in Rae-Lynn’s tone when she heard her father’s words.

Mrs. Ching stood in quickly to suggest that they go to Hong Kong or Singapore instead. Rae-Lynn was never much of a difficult child, or so she seemed to her parents; maybe that’s because Mr. and Mrs. Ching usually freely gave her what she wanted. But this time, there was a definitive tone in her father’s words; she knew that they were not going to Paris this Christmas, just as her father said. However, for someone that has hardly ever taken a “No” from anyone, especially her parents, Rae-Lynn became furious as reality sank in. In her rage, she exclaimed that she would not go anywhere for Christmas if the destination was not Paris. Mrs. Ching tried to reason with her, to get her to understand their family’s financial condition; but Rae-Lynn, being clouded by her anger and disappointment, in return, demanded her parents to understand that she’ll be embarrassed in front of her friends because they will all be going to Europe. Faced with stress and a daughter that seemed to be every bit selfish and unwilling to understand, Mr. Ching snapped; he raised his voice, something he has never done before to Rae-Lynn and told her that if she refuses to join the family’s Christmas vacation, then she can stay home alone. Rae-Lynn retaliated by shouting that she hated her parents and Christmas.

The moment Lynn shouted the words “I hate Christmas”, something happened; time began to move in a reversed order. Time travelled back to the moment when Rae-Lynn’s parents broke the bad news of cancelling their trip to Paris; just when it seemed like a déjà vu, time continued to revert to March when Mr. Ching announced that they’ll be going to Paris for Christmas. Before Rae-Lynn could grasp what was happening, major events began to flash pass her in a reversed order; Malaysia’s independence, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech. The flashes slowed down at the scene of two women speaking to a brightly lit figure in front of an empty tomb, but time continued to reverse its order. A man was seen hung on a cross when Lynn realized she was walking backwards. Then, something distracted her; it was a little boy running around backwards with another man, running behind the boy; also backwards. Rae-Lynn was still puzzled; her lips began to form words,

“Where am…” but before she could finish her whisper, a piercing shriek shocked her.

Rae-Lynn couldn’t believe her eyes when she turned around to where the shriek came from. Right before her was a lady in labor, the lady was holding on to the hand of a man, and they were all in a stable. Something clicked in Rae-Lynn’s head when the lady gave out a second shriek; she blinked to realization that it was the nativity scene she’s always seen in church plays every Christmas. But still, it didn’t make any sense to her, Christmas was still three weeks away, she couldn’t be watching the play right now. Was she dreaming? She had to be; this was the near conclusion Rae-Lynn came to when she heard a baby cry.

“Jesus Christ, that’s Jesus! No way, I’m dreaming, I must be dreaming!” Rae-Lynn reassured herself.

But out of curiosity, Rae-Lynn moved forward to touch the little baby that was resting so soundly in the arms of his mother. Rae-Lynn gasped as she felt the warmth of the baby’s soft skin; she lifted her fingers but the baby seemed to have a charm that pulled Rae-Lynn towards him.

“How could a dream be so real? This had to be a dream, if not, what am I doing here?”

Questions flooded Rae-Lynn’s mind. She began to touch other things, the hay, the lady that’s supposed to be Mary; she even waved at the man, Joseph, if she was definite of her bible stories. Everything she touched felt real, but one thing was out of place; no one reacted to her touch, even the animals didn’t seem to be affected by her.

Confusion and fear began to creep into Rae-Lynn’s conscious mind, or was it her subconscious mind? Rae-Lynn couldn’t be sure. At that very moment, a Voice spoke,

“My child, do not be afraid.”

No one else seemed to react to the Voice; perhaps they did not hear it, only Rae-Lynn turned to find the source of the Voice but she found no one else in the stable besides Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and herself. It could have been an adrenaline rush from all the novelty, because instead of running in hysterics, Rae-Lynn spoke to the Voice, questioning who was there.

“Why it’s Me, my child,” the Voice replied.

There was something familiar about the Voice but Rae-Lynn couldn’t put her finger on it, however, the familiarity made Rae-Lynn ask,

“Dad, is that you?”

However, as the words left her lips, Rae-Lynn knew she made a wrong guess for the Voice did not sound like her dad. But, with a tinge of humor, the Voice answered,

“Hmm… that’s how some people address Me.”

Rae-Lynn did not reply as she was still recalling for she knew she’s heard this Voice somewhere, sometime ago. Besides that, she got distracted again with the little boy that was running around, this time he was running forward and was chased by the man; this time she knew the little boy was Jesus and the man Joseph. Just as she was about to smile at the cute little Jesus, the Voice spoke again,

“Dear Rae-Lynn, don’t you recognize My voice? Haven’t I said that My sheep hear My voice?”

Shocked, the word fell out of Rae-Lynn’s mouth before it was processed,

“GOD?”

“Yes, My child,” was the Voice’s reply.

Although she was still in disbelief, an unexplainable surge of peace filled Rae-Lynn, she didn’t fear the Voice, instead, she even felt safe speaking to It.

“What am I doing here God?”

With the same humorous tone He had earlier, God replied, “Well, I couldn’t help but overheard that you hated Christmas, would you mind telling Me why?”

Embarrassed, Rae-Lynn explained how her parents broke their promise and how she’ll be embarrassed when her friends asked about her trip to Paris after the holidays. As Rae-Lynn spoke, her surroundings changed again; Jesus was no longer a little boy, he was now a young man that was going around performing miracles. Rae-Lynn’s rage built up as she spoke of her argument with her parents, but that rage melted away as she observed from the corner of her eye, Jesus resurrecting a girl that was claimed to be dead. Rae-Lynn stood in awe as she witness a pale and lifeless girl breathe and come back to life. When she found her voice, she asked God if He saw what just happened, and God said with pride in His voice,

“Every bit of it, that’s My son!”

Before Rae-Lynn could say anything else, she heard the lashing of a whip and the cry of a man in pain. Chills ran down her spine and fear filled her eyes as she realized the scene around her had changed again; and changed for the worse. She was there in the middle of a crowd, the man crying out in pain was just beside her, he was Jesus; he was whipped by a Roman soldier. Without any hesitation, Rae-Lynn screamed and yelled at the soldier but of course to no avail. Rae-Lynn knew she couldn’t just stand there and watch Jesus, the baby she saw at the stable, the little boy that was playing with his father, the young man that performed miracles, being whipped and spat at; she grabbed the arm of the soldier with both of her hands and with all the might she could manage, tried to stop the soldier from whipping Jesus. But the soldier didn’t stop, it even seemed like Rae-Lynn was the one that was whipping Jesus herself. She let go of the soldier’s arm immediately and tears were already streaming down her cheeks when God asked why she was crying.

What an absurd question! “Can’t You see that they are whipping Jesus, Your Son?!”

God paused; it was as if He was trying to recollect Himself before speaking because His voice trembled when He said,

“Every bit of it, that is My Son!”

Just as God finished His words, Jesus exclaimed from the cross,

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Rae-Lynn screamed as she saw Jesus hung on the cross, she ran to the soldiers, yanking their outfits, shouting that Jesus is innocent. As she crumbles to the floor, at the feet of the cross, Rae-Lynn cried,

“God, do something, do something!”

And God replied, “I hate Christmas”

Those words rang a bell in Rae-Lynn; this was why she was here; she was brought back in time to witness every bit of what Christmas meant to God. Just as Christmas was the birth of Jesus Christ to bring hope to mankind, Christmas marked the beginning of the days of pain for God because He knew how Jesus’ life would end; it would end on the cross of Calvary.

“No, no, no, NO! This is not how the story ends, God, NO! The Bible says three days later, Jesus will be resurrected! Three days God, on the third day, he will live! You know it, You knew he would live! So don’t hate Christmas!”

As Rae-Lynn spoke those words, she regained consciousness; she was in her room, on her bed when she woke up. Was it a dream, a vision perhaps? Or did God really bring her back in time? Whatever it was, it made Rae-Lynn see how superficial she was about the true meaning of Christmas. She whispered a prayer in her heart,

“God, I’m sorry. How superficial of me to hate Christmas because I won’t get to go to Paris. I’m so sorry. But God, can we make a deal? I’ll remember the true meaning of Christmas, every single bit of it and You’ll promise me You’ll never hate Christmas anymore alright? I should go apologize to my parents now.”

God smiled and responded, “Deal”.

As some of you mite know, it's Fashion Week here in M'sia!! (well.. for those of u that dont know.. it's ok! cause i wouldnt have known if my dearie cellie was not involved XD)

Julian was chosen (with a few other coll mates) to represent his College (IFTC) to show case some work of the future-IT designers at the MiFA Fashion Week, held in Pavilion.

so we cellies went to support him =)

honestly... we were kinda lost when the emcee asked the audience who was there to support who... so we just sat there and watched the work of other designers take the Walk.

and we knew it's our boy's moment!!!

my trusty HP printer finally succumbed to old age 2 weeks ago... (when i had to print my assignment!!! thanks Yue for helping me out then :D)

so we decided to get a new 1 =)
kor say Canon is better than HP
but in my opinion.. it's SLOWER!!! ROAR!

well.. maybe it's cause...

this printer has 3 functions!!!
besides printing, it can copy and scan too! how cool is that? (excuse my jakun-ness... but this IS new to the Dot :P)

on top of all the coolness of this new gadget...
DOT INSTALLED and SETUP-ed THE PRINTER ALL BY HERSELF!!! (you've REALLY gotta give me some credit... cause it's DOT we're talking about here! heh! :D)

On another end, my phone bill has been peaking due to the increase of non-Maxis-user friends that i have...
positive point to note: i have MORE frens XD
negative point... it's increased my bill by 50% :(
so after some consideration, i decided... since u cant beat em'
JOIN EM'!
i'm half a DiGi user now... my loyalty still goes to Maxis cause it took me SO MANY tries just to add Friends on that Family and Friends thingy! pfft!
but now that i have a DiGi number, i THINK i am saving a lot la... we'll see when this month's bill comes *fingers crossed* XP

Cloudy Chance of Meatballs

but i had a craving for meatballs and i managed to talked my brother into driving to Ikea for some MEATBALLS!! :D

and i thot it'd be nice to bring my niece, Mel and my nephew, Nick along cause it's a Friday and school ends early for them...

happy happy! i was very happy when i knew i would be going to Langkawi with SoneeT. We planned to visit locations in which SoneeT would come in handy. Here are the shots i took :D

had 2 pics of the same fish cause i cant decide which is my fav :P

i like this 1 cause the color contrast of the fish with the blue background

this jellyfish is just so cute! it's very small! palm-size i guess
this would have been a very nice shot if it wasnt so noisy (the marine section was very dark so i had to increase my iso)

among all i've uploaded, this has to be one of my least favourite.. but then again, how often do u see pics of jellyfish? so live with it la k! :P

oh this is one of my favs! (altho i have no idea why the jellyfish's upside down... it didnt come right side up the whole time i was there waiting for it.. so i gave up waiting and took this instead :P)

mantis prawn! these things are EXPENSIVE! (to eat of course)
we had 4 of these in one of the chinese restaurants in Langkawi, and the bill for it came up to rm98!!! *faints*
but it was uber yummy! :D so altho it was crazy expensive, we decided it was worth it (just so we could sleep better at nite la :P)

Fishie! oh this place had some ginormous fishies at the entrance!! but i couldnt capture any of them cause some how SoneeT was a bit slow (once again due to poor lighting and the speed of the fish) but they were crazy big! if 1 swam next to me... i'm VERY SURE i'll faint!

the other place we visited was the cable car ride to some mountain

we were supposed to be able to see the entire island from the top of the mountain... BUT! the clouds were too low

so this was the only pic that made the cut from that trip

will be telling my experience on that mount in the next post =)

earlier on our 2nd day there, we visited Eagle Square (or was it Lang Square?)
you can roughly guess what we saw there la..

we stayed at 2 different resorts; we spent our 1st nite in Langkasuka
it has a private beach that wasnt so nice la (but as mom said... "u cant compare with the beach in Redang..." but but but... :P)

from this pic forth, u'll be seeing many pics of the same beach with similar colored skies...

and this is the reason why... see the clouds and the rain at the other side of the island?

Sonee's Extreme Makeover

Sonee has been with me for *counts* 5 years already? We've had great moments, or should i say shots together =)

however, as time passed, Sonee wore out

and showed signs of lagging (especially under poor lighting)

it has been my wish for i-cant-even-remember-how-long to give Sonee an upgrade...

i believe Sonee had the same idea, she wanted to be better, feel better and LOOK better

This year, in the light of my 21st birthday, my uncle and aunty decided to bless Sonee and I with a makeover for Sonee!

before i show you the AFTER pics, in conjunction of the makeover, i've decided to give Sonee a new name...

last week i had cravings for pancakes... but the only economical pancakes available were sold in McDs and only during breakfast hours.. but nobody i know nor i would want to get up so early just to satisfy my as-if-i'm-pregnant cravings...

cooking it myself would be an option (if only i had the mix at home... no.. mixing it myself... lets not get there shall we? :P)
but then again... *recalls the image of the pancakes i made the last time*
sighs... my brother can testify to it... they looked more like scrambled eggs than pancakes... sighs...

BUT!!! this time around...
mom's very lovable friend.. i have no idea who she is.. but she's still lovable because she gave my mom a non-stick pan!!!
so i asked mom to get a box of pancake mix from Giant...

As some of you would have known, i went for a visit to Hosp Bahagia on Thurs. Initially i thot i would get to see the patients and observe them for a bit... that would have been cool... but this visit was way off from wat i expected...

we visited the dragon fruit farm in the hosp's vicinity instead...

well... when when the Happy Hosp throws u dragon fruits... u take HAPPY SHOTS!

Prawn Fishing!!!

After the M2L Concert last last Friday, we decided to have a cell outing to bond with the friends we all brought for the Concert... so what could be fun and interesting?

makan? been there...
sports? done that...

so this time... we went PRAWN FISHING!!! :D

it's one of the shops located in Ara Damansara... Tjin found out about that place...
so we convoyed.. 5 cars babeh!!! (yes Jo, Jay and Em! our cell's GROWING!!! Hallelujah!!!)

i was all excited on our journey there until i saw THIS!

the guy's preparing the bait for us.. i mean for the prawns..
and the bait happened to be RAW LIVER! *gags*
i'm glad it was fresh... or at least that was what my brain told me.. cause i didnt smell any rotten scent THANKFULLY!

the guy helped us put the bait on.. but this was the 1st and only time he did it..

we had to do the following times :S
(suddenly I'm thankful the prawns didnt bite my bait :P)

then the rod was adjusted so that red thingy was just touching the surface of the water... (of course by now, the bait was already IN the water :P)

so while waiting.. what was there to do?

besides cam-whoring!!! :D

sorry i couldnt put all of these in 1 post, cause majority of the pics are in my cousin's cam and i'm stealing time from my internship-log-writing to update my blog before this becomes UBER stale news... for those of you that dont know yet or read this before i've completed part 1... my maternal grandfather passed away last Tues morning due to kidney failure and whatever problems that followed the kidney failure la :P

I Can't Say this Enough...

yes! u can call me a NOOB! cause i the GENIUS!! forgot to take a pic of the pressie i got for Nick and his bride Sara before wrapping it -.- (it must be the hols la.. slowing my brains :P)
but i HAVE to blog about it, cause this is the FIRST wedding gift i'd ever bought! :D gaH! just when i thot birthday gifts are hard to buy... wedding gifts are HARDER! cause u've gotta get something that 2 ppl can use.. what more.. 2 persons of a different gender! STRESS!

so i decided to get.. quite a neutral gift la.. a mini aromatherapy set! :D
after payin only did i realise that i didnt pay attention to the smell of the rose and lavender oil! :S i was more intrigued by the rose-stone thingy and the idea that u dont need a candle to heat the oil.. cause u just have to drop some of the oil on the rose-stone thingy... and the scent will disperse from the stone. HOW COOL IS THAT?! (of course i couldnt test it out for myself la)

so NICK! do let me know if it works ya! :D and according to the sales person... the rose-stone will turn pink as u use it! :D

ah.. yes! if u havent noticed, i was talking about a wedding- Nick and Sara's wedding that happened on Sat :D

it was a GARDEN wedding! (another first! :D)

i was early that morning.. hehe! like Kawan mentioned.. PERHIMPUNAN time! i reached the hotel at 7.30, Nick was there of course, some friends and family members of the bride and groom were already present, but the seats were empty... so i took the opportunity to snap some hopefully-beautiful-pics :D

oh yes.. y 7.30 u might ask.. that was my 1st question too! (i checked the time several times to make sure i saw the correct time!) cause it's a garden wedding lo... the bride and groom didnt want us to fry/bake under the CRAZY heat of Msia =)

hehe! the AISLE!
to us.. it may just look like a nicely rolled out red carpet with beautiful flower balls decorated on each side that led to a simple white tent...

but i believe to Sara, the aisle would have looked entirely different...

she might not have noticed the flowers that were at each side of the aisle,
neither would she have realized the redness of the carpet, cause the color of the carpet wouldnt have mattered to her (all that mattered was the gentleman that would be waiting at the end of it)

instead, she would have looked at the smiles that lit the faces of the people on the left side of the aisle... faces she recognized, faces of her friends and family...
then she would have turned to the right, also acknowledging the smiles that were on the right side of the aisle... she may not be as familiar with these faces, but she knew that from this day on, these faces would be very much part of her life...
she wouldnt smile in response, she COULDNT becase she would already be GRINNING from ear to ear as she continued looking pass the smiles until she met the pair of eyes, until she saw her Groom...
she would now need to focus, but that would be a challenge... because her eyes would have been blurred with glistening tears- tears of joy...

As she walks towards her Groom, nothing else would have mattered...
(btw, this is my fav pic :D)

Upon reaching the simple white tent, OH! to her, that would NOT be a simple white tent...
At that white tent, she would give up the her life of singlehood to be united with her Groom...
They would exchange vows that would now bind them as ONE...

Yes, only Sara would see the true picture of the Aisle...

i have thot about noticing more of his white hair... and wrinkles... the slowness in his walk.. and NOPE!! those thots didnt make me happy AT ALL!!

it's not that i'm complaining.. i'm just saying that we've gotta be smarter the next time we go there, if we EVER go there...

yue and sab! i think if we go there hoh.. we order 1 of the dishes above... the 3 of us can share and we'll still be FULL!
that's how rich the food there was!

anyhow, i'm still happy koko brought us there (eventhough he hesitated much :P)

After our mid terms, we headed down south to the land of History and FOOD! :D

went down in 2 cars cause there were 7 of us.

in Chem's car which was driven by Yung, there were 4 of us (Yue, Dot, Chem, and of course... Yung)

in Joseph's car was Sab, Leonard and Joseph.

we left KL after church, so by the time we reached there, our tummies were SCREAMING for food! :P

Lunch Time: we had porridge and fried wanton! ooh.. YUMMY!
but the porridge did leave us rather thirsty tho...

Yung had a plan that after each meal, we'd go for FRUITS! cause he doesnt want us to get constipated. HEH!

so we walked to the nearest fruit stall available. but i think that's the only fruit stall.. cause i didnt see anymore along our journey.

poor joseph didnt have a partner... so we gals decided to take a pic with him la.. altho he isnt smiling... but i bet he was THRILLED! :P

ah hah! so here are the couples! Leonard+Sab, Yung+Chem, and the sumbang couple... Yue+Dot*! (we kinda have an identity crisis... cause i have short hair, yet i'm the "girl" :P)

*well.. Nick couldnt make it.. that's y i'm his ganti la.. (adds more to the crisis doesnt it? :P)

but finally we went in to 1 that looked like it.. didnt buy any necklaces tho.. cause i didnt spot any one that screamed my name :P

just when i thot.. "oh dear... what am i gonna blog about what happened at 4pm when we didnt take any pictures?" (no pics because we went KARAOKE!! and the room was dark.. malas to use flash la.. actually.. i was just malas -PERIOD- :P) then it HAPPENED!!!

have you ever had one of those moments where you are just SOOOOO tempted to curse to release ALL the tension you felt??

ok.. maybe some of you dont really care about cursing that u can make a sentence out of your Gen-Y vocab.. or maybe some of you might ask... "Curse? what's that? can eat 1 ar?"
so this leaves me on no-man's-land... i'm actually tempted to curse from time to time.. maybe cause to scream would attract lots of attention... but a soft S*** or F*** wouldnt be so loud and yet be able to remove the tension...

after karaoke, we couldnt go for dinner cause Foo Joe, my kind transporter (must give some credit la.. if not next time he dont wanna fetch me :( ) had to go home to study for tomorrow's paper... so i went to ta-pau McDs lo...

this post is 1 day late.. but since i have nothing to blog about at the moment, i'll blog bout this *teehee*

as some of you mite know, my parents sent my popo back to Ipoh on Mon noon, leaving me home alone (for a few hours only tho cause my bro comes home after work)

i always thot i enjoyed the occasional alone time i have with the house.. it makes me feel grown up (which i'm supposed to be la.. sigh.. but that another story! :P)

mon was still alrite cause while waiting for news about my kong kong, i did accounts.. had lunch and then watched Horton Hears A Who?! which i happen to like! i think i REALLY like Dr. Seuss' work, the narration of the movies made based on his books are SO COOL! the narration's done in rhymes!

so ya.. back to the story...

then came tues morn..
it's as if that my tues blues arent bad enuf (with the fact that i have ACCOUNTS!!! it's getting better tho)
i woke up, already feeling down cause i dont want to go to coll...
i had to wake up to an empty house! :( (well, my bro was around la.. but he's dead asleep! -.-)
the house was so quiet.. for a second, i felt like crying...
but the thot of Sandra coming to pick me up made me hurry up cause i tend to stone for MINUTES!! :P

classes werent that bad..

we marked our accounts assignments.. did pretty well, Thank You Jesus! =)
then noon class.. we did was we usually do.. NOTHING! heh!

Sandra fetched me home too cause daddy said they'll only leave Ipoh at 4.30 pm.. classes end at 4! :S

Once again, i had to go back to an empty house.. this time, it was REALLY empty!
bro went to work and i didnt have the usual excited shouts of "Dory Cheh Cheh(s)" to greet me when i opened the door... that's the thing... I HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR!!! (i usually just open the grill :P) *emo*
glad i had Yeem chat with me online (THANKS GAL! =) )

then i watched Wild Hogs (i love my laptop! :P)

2 hours passed and finally i hear the oh-so-familiar-it-sounds-like-a-small-plane's-landing-sound of my dad's car!!

In conjunction of GTYC's CNY celebration, we were blessed to have the CHS Chinese orchestra come perform for us!

i must say they did a very good job! considering that they are TEENS of the 21st century!! i'm really proud to see them playing the Er Hu and keeping the tradition alive!

they did 4 songs.. but 1 more still in the process of uploading to youtube.. so i'm just posting the 2 CNY songs before Chap Goh Meh passes!

What a Wake Up Call

this morning, we really got a bad wake up call when my aunt told us that my kong kong mite not make it because he was complaining of being dizzy and weak, saying that he's gonna pass and asking to see my popo for the very last time cause he thinks he's gonna die.. it's always scary when old ppl say that, because it seems like they know when their time's up...

mom and dad had to rush to send popo back to ipoh.. whereas i had to stay home to finish my accounts assignment (pathetic i know).

thankfully by noon, i got news from my cousin that kong kong's fine. They rushed him to the hospital.. my aunt had to go into the ambulance (now as much as it would be some experience to BLOG about... that's one car that i DO NOT want to ride in! dont think i could bear with the anxiety of sitting beside a loved one as i watch him/her fight for his/her life...)

The doc said that my kong kong's sugar level dropped.. that's why he had those scary symptoms.
The ward docs will be back tmr (after the Thaipusam break) and they will check on my kong kong. Hopefully they will give us good new too!

Thanks to all my dear cellies for praying along with me!
and also to my sweeties that have been encouraging me!

after the all time favourite "ENOUGH LA" (shy) i had a series of firsts! :D

hehe! my FIRST time switching my FIRST lappie on :D

the same evening,
we went to Puchong for dinner (been goin there-cousin's place alot cause staying at home for the hols on CNY is just INTOLERABLE!! :D)

i had 3 sessions of Lou Sang this year!
dont really fancy the taste of it, i just like the process of tossing it :D and picking out the fish :P
but this year's Lou Sang sessions, only 1 of the 3 had fish! -.-

this is why i dont like being the camera person...
i dont get to be in the pictures!! :(

but it's always rewarding to get pics of smiles! :D

and clear ones too! :D

sigh... this would not come as a surprise to most of u that already know me.. or have actually spent a full's day out with me..

but for the benefit of those that are deprived of the privilege of spending time with Dot... and for those that find Dot embarrassing herself ever-so-amusing (sigh! :P)
i have decided to blog about what happened today...

after class, dad wanted to pay some bills at the post office but me being a DIVA! hah! insisted that i was FED! so daddy dropped me at Nirvana (no.. not the funeral parlour) but the banana leaf rice restaurant in USJ9 while he settle the bills..

so i went in alone lo..

as i entered, the boss came out and walked towards me...

he mumbled something...

thinking that he'd recognize me cause my family and i always go there (there u go! a HINT to my stalkers :P)

i told him.. sigh... cant believe i did it but this was what i said, "table for 1 pls"

he was like, "huh?"

AND I OUGHT TO SHOOT MYSELF FOR ACTUALLY REPEATING, "table for 1" *with the index-finger-lifted-up-gesture, signing ONE*

once again, he went, "HUH?"

then it struck me... was he talking to me when he mumbled? do they have the "pls wait to be seated" rule here?

and the correct answer is: NO! (to both questions) *drops head in shame*

so i quickly walked in and sat down with my back facing the boss, determined to never look at his direction again!

OH! just when you thot, HAHA, There! Dot did it again! Once again updating her list of embarrassing moments...

well... I WAS ON A ROLL!!

just minutes later, Dot's Embaraz-O-meter climbed a notch! (sigh...)

i ordered the fried vege (i know i shouldnt be eating that... but it's so yummy!!)
with my conscience constantly YANKING my senses, i decided to flip the entire plate of fried vege over a piece of tissue so the oil will flow down and sip into the tissue...

but i just had to keep the butterfinger's Pride alive...

the vege spilled... LOTS of it... shy shy SHY!!!

i think nobody witnessed wat happened... i HOPE nobody witnessed wat happened!!

note to self: never attempt any stunts with food, pots, pans, knives... as a matter of fact, NEVER ATTEMPT ANY STUNTS, PERIOD!

altho my mom didnt find that funny (maybe she's immuned with my embarrassing moments) but i still hope that they amused you...

It's a Family Thing

this point of time LAST WEEK... i was at home... being so blur that the clock was gonna strike 12 SOON.. teehee!

and this was wat happened LAST WEEK's TOMORROW

hehe! after dressing up accompanied by the constant "HURRY UPs" from my parents...
we had to take a family pic la :D

then we journeyed to my ah ma's place for breakfast! (altho breakfast was prepared at my place -.-)

oh the long back-dated post on my photography assignment!

we were supposed to create a scrapbook with the pics we took of
a) macro shots
b) outdoor model shoots
c) a marathon
d) Black & White
e) Landscape

we went to the Taman Bunga Raya in KL to take macro shots of flowers... it was an irony tho.. cause Sonee doesnt have the macro function... i was pretty upset that day...
BUT!!! to my surprise, Sonee behaved REALLY well! and she managed to capture these shots!
LOTS of shots were taken la.. but these few were chosen to be compiled into the scrapbook =)

"Thing"
the idea of the shot was to capture the flower with the stones as the background... but suddenly i saw a spider creep out... :D
i think i named this Bunga Raya.. hehe! ran out of ideas :P
lecturer showed us a video of tips in taking pics. the host mentioned that when taking pics, we should walk around the subject to find for a best spot.
as angling is very important for macro shots... i LOOKED UP and saw THIS!

teehee! this was taken with my cousin's nikon *** (couldnt remember :P) when we were in Perhentian.
i love this pic cause it looks like it's computer generated with the flawless white petals and the yellow center... YET! it's actually a picture of REAL flowers! with no editing! KENG le?! :P

the focus of the pic here is the pistil of the flower, which is the reproduction organ of a flower! hence the title =)

cause i knew nuts bout wat's a nice model shot and it's really depressing to stand next a whole group of classmates that have DSLRs -.-

Part 3: MMHA marathon
-.- we had to wake up at 5.30 in the morning to get ready for this assignment cause the marathon starts at 7! PFFT!!!
this was actually WORSE than the model shoot... actually.. i dont like taking pictures of people... not with Sonee (for assignment purposes)... cause it's HARD! (camwhoring is a different story altogether :P)
thankfully, with some coincidence and angling, Sonee and Dot managed to pull through =)

cant remember the name of this pic either!
wanted to take a pic of the winding road.. and a motorcyclist came by! :D
the motorcyclist added depth to the pic.. hence making it a better pic ;)

teehee! before this couple were my lecturer and her fiancee... wanted to take a pic of their backs with them holding hands... BUT!! they didnt... however, the couple behind (the owners of the shadows) did! so i took the opportunity lo! :D cause shadows more artsy i think :P

there were (what's isi tersirat" in english ar?) stories to each picture that were captured... but then ar... i lazy to type la.. so u're just reading what i'm coughing out in the spur of the moment :P
"where's my ball?"
ok.. let me give u a glimpse of the stories i wrote...
for this pic... it was PLAIN coincidence that the boy was staring at the goal post.. and the train passed by...
the train represents modernization of our country
the boy represents the children of this generation
the football field represents a child's game...
the missing ball represents the kiasu-ness of parents in this generation that have chosen to push their children so hard.. for tuition... to score better and BETTER... until finally....
their child will only know how to SPELL F.U.N yet NOT know the TRUE meaning of FUN!
heh! DEEP le? well.. in the scrapbook it's writen in a nicer form la... i'm just writing this based on what i could remember :D

"MY swimming pool"
MY here carries 2 meaning... MY in caps is the shortform of Malaysia and MY is My la.. get it? :P
so yea.. this pic was taken in Perhentian...
it's kinda like one of those pics that could be used for a cuti-cuti Malaysia kinda campaign...
the idea sparked when i recalled the ad done by Australia's tourism board... a kid said "we've removed the sharks from our waters" and the sea was UBER blue!!!
so similarly... this picture shows that waters of Malaysia too can pass as swimming pools :D
heh! this 1 no story la.. it's just a meeting between a camwhore and a cam-pro wannabe! :P

this was taken when i was in Ipoh... after i got the photography assignment... mom went to get some knives sharpened... and i had the idea that pics of ppl doing something in black and white would look nice.. HENCE! =)

why is it nice? heh! i dunno! :P
i just like it.. it would look nicer if i took from the same angle as i did for the pic with my bro in B&W

OH! i WAS thinking when i took this!
we were on our way to the island.. it was a crazy bumpy ride... but FUN :D excluding the backaches it caused us :D
then i spotted this loner on the sea... so i tried to zoom as much as Sonee could take me.. altho we didnt get to capture much of the ship... but i oh-so-LOVE the blueness of the sky and water! :D and the way the clouds swirl!! :D :D

hehe! this was taken when i was in Redang... it's supposed to be a sunRISE! but it kinda looks SET-ish here...

here's something random...

MY DREAM!

i had this WEIRD dream last nite!

dreamt of a flying prawn... yes.. u read right... PRAWN! it flew like a cockroach!!!
mind u.... a prawn's bigger than a cockroach lo!! and it isnt exactly the prettiest thing alive... *shivers*
i think it attacked... well.. it didnt fly straight at me la.. but it was in the same room as me! so it posed as a threat to the Dot toO! hence we'll use the word "attack" :D
so yea... 1st there was the FLYING prawn...
then...
there was a SHAPE-SHIFTING CENTIPEDE!!!
1st it was like it's original worm-looking shape... but then!! it turned into a pancake-looking thing!! ROAR!!!
it was fighting an ANT (as we all know.. centipedes are poisonous.. so i expected the ant to die pretty fast la.. but miraculously it survived!)
then the centipede shape shifted and came towards me!
my bro tried to kill it.. with a broom -.-
even in my dream i thot... that's impossible! the centipede so hard.. the broom so soft... sigh...

heh! u all still with me?

some WEIRD dream hoh? oh well... not been sleeping well these few nights.. kept waking up to pee.. :P too much info i know.. hehe!

well.. that's all for now! until i dream of...

OH!! i've been dreaming of using a NEW cam TWICE in a row!!! hehe!

A Friendly Reminder

HOWEVER! i've got no class on Fri, which pushes the beginning of my CNY hols 1 day ahead....
so it's 3 more days!
FURTHERMORE!!! it's the WEEKENDS!!!

In SLEEPOVERs.. u dont OVERSLEEP

CLEARLY, Jo Goh, the OLD FART didnt understand that! (that's her new nickname, which she GLADLY accepted when she pleaded us to let her sleep :P)

we started our nite, after service with Mumtaj (however u spell it) naan, then we went over to Jo's place in Surian Condos..
it's been a year since we've been there! and now the apartment looks even nicer! :D

after settling ourselves in, and setting up the place, we brought the girlie girls out of us!

Em started the "kutu-finders" clan! :P

she started braiding Jo's hair...

then Foo got itchy, i mean EXCITED and she wanted to be a part of the clan...

but not all ppl are blessed with LONG braidable hair... *sob* me *sobs*
so Jo Goh came to me rescue!
she brought her ceramic hair styler thingy, cool stuff i tell u! ;)

looking that i fail in camwhoring while trying to include Jo Goh in the picture...

excuse the face.. i was.. actually i couldnt remember wat was i doing :P

the whole darkening of the background was TOTALLY unplanned..
guess the reason this happened is the same as when u take a pic with something bright (like the sun) as ur background... everything darkens.. so now that the bright thing is the screen of Em's cam, everything around it is darken lo.. (it's just Dot's wild guess :P)

and so happened Jo looked at us smiling! :D

last Oct, i sat for my MUET, and today, the results are FINALLY out!

we checked it out thru our handphones.. was pretty exciting cause the 3 of us (Sab, Yue and i) did it together :D

surprisingly their response was pretty quick, in fact, VERY quick!
in less than a minute, even b4 my hp's screensaver popped up, i got my reply!
but.. the result was less than wat i expected...

so i thot... hmm... maybe they made a mistake (cause the reply came back JUST too SOON!)

hence, i was determined to come back and check it online!

with HOPES that my wishful thinking would come to past...

however!

oh well! am just glad it's over =)

Of an Irony and Colors

just when i thot i dont have anything to blog about (well.. i thot i didnt have anything to blog about like 3 days ago la.. now i actually have SOMETHING to blog about.. but i will blog about THIS first k! :P)

the Irony: i got my DRIVER's license done!
heh! YES, the Dot DOES have a Driver's license, i'm actually AUTHORISED to drive! the thing is... this authority maybe RETRACTED when i do DRIVE *sigh* hence i've put it on hold :P
STILL! the license had to be done la.. if i dont do it within a year after my 'P' expires, i've gotta take the test ALL OVER AGAIN! and NEVER am i gonna do that!

on Fri morn, Yen was such a dear when she agreed to send me to JPJ to get my license done.
upon arriving at JPJ and taking my number...
JPJ staff: Cik ada bawa GAMBAR?
Dot: NEED MEH?!

so this was the outcome!
kinda dreaded taking a pic after my haircut cause i think it's too short and i look like a durian -.-
but i guess it turned out oK! :D

on the same day, Yen and i went to the Curve so Yen could get a haircut and so i can do a lil more SHOPPING! *muahahaha* :P
while Yen was getting her ever-so-long haircut, i bought a top and discovered one of my FAV shops!
Daiso, a jap shop that sells everything from cosmetics, kitchen ware, to stationery for RM 5 :D
when i saw the pens, i knew i HAD to buy them!!
cause they were oil based, color ballpens, i thot they would be reliable la ;)
got them and then camwhored FOR them :P

imagine what would we be missing out if our world was just black and white...

The FIRST 21st...

we (SMK USJ 4-rians) celebrated dearie Laura's 21st birthday on the 3rd of January (the 1st 21st of my kind!!!)! well.. her bday is in Feb.. but she has to go back to the U.S. for her studies before her bday.. so her lovely parents decided to throw her a party before she leaves.
the party was in... now wat's the name of that restaurant again... well.. it's in Holiday Villa la..
we had a buffet lunch. i didnt use Sonee as much cause the lighting was pretty bad in the room.. but these pics are enuf to tell the story la :D
